June in Winteringham, and these wild roses at the bottom of Low Burgage fill the hedgerows with their beauty and the air with their delightful perfume.

June 6th 2005 ... And these shelducks gained a vantage point on the Pong Shop!

Winteringham Nature Site - Geese

Have a gander at that!

Well five out of six have spotted something to the right of the photograph, but one little gosling has seen something else to have a gander at!

This Moorhen down Low Burgage is hedging his bets when it comes to being spotted, while the one on the left below believes a clean pair of heels is the best form of defence.  In our third picture, we have a true professional - posing for Harry’s camera!

Winteringham Nature Site - Poppy
Poppy:

Its seeds can remain dormant in the ground for 80 years!   Could this be from a poppy seed dropped in 1925?

Winteringham Nature Site - Blackberry
Nature’s bounty: The blackberry - always delicious, and makes wonderful jam or desserts, especially with apples!  It makes getting caught up in the blackberry’s defences all worthwhile!

Winteringham Nature Site - Greenfinch
Harry captured this photograph of a greenfinch in his garden from his back doorstep

Winteringham Nature Site - Frog

A couple of healthy looking frogs from one of the village ponds, enjoying the warmth of a midsummer’s day.
